What is a Differential Pressure Transmitter and Why Is It Critical for Filtration Systems?

A differential pressure transmitter is an instrument that measures the pressure difference (ΔP) between two points in a process and converts this measurement into a standard electrical output signal, typically 4–20 mA.

In baghouse filtration systems, the high-pressure side (P₁) is connected to the dirty-air chamber before the filter, while the low-pressure side (P₂) is connected to the clean-air chamber after the filter.

As dust accumulates on the filter media, the pressure difference between these two chambers increases. The APT3100 accurately measures this differential pressure at millibar-level precision, providing a clear indication of filter contamination and loading conditions.
